This is an extensive, but not exhaustive, list of funding opportunities for informational purposes only. Click on an entry for more details. Please be sure to verify competition guidelines, eligibility, and deadlines on the sponsor’s website.  

  • If you are a faculty member in the College of LAS and are applying for funding from federal agencies and/or funding that is awarded to the institution, you must contact the LAS Office of Research at las-research@illinois.edu a minimum of four weeks prior to the sponsor deadline to notify them you plan to apply.
  • All faculty (regardless of college/department) applying for funding from federal agencies and/or funding that is awarded to the institution must work with Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) for application preparation, review, and submission. Please note that internal deadlines (set by SPA and your department) are earlier than the sponsor deadline.
